Hello my friends!
It is August, which means it is Preemie Crochet Challenge month again! My friends at Sunflower Cottage Crochet hold this special event every year, and I am honored to be able to participate once again.
This year, I have designed another great blanket pattern that I know you are going to have so much fun making!
I designed the Nautical NICU Blanket using Lion Brand Comfy Cotton blend, but you can use your favorite 3 weight yarn in any colors you wish.
The simple stitch repeats in the body of the blanket create a great texture that is fun to work up, and the project is finished with a gorgeous border with even more great texture, something a new baby is sure to love for years to come!
My testers absolutely LOVED making their Nautical NICU Blankets, and one tester loved it so much she made two during the testing period! Her little one is already loving this pattern:
I have even created a few video tutorials on my new Rumble channel to help you with the techniques used, in case you need it. Scroll down to see the tutorial videos.
The rope border technique is featured in the Crochet Borders and Edges blog hop hosted by my friend Christine from Sweet Potato 3! Each weekday (Monday-Friday) in May, you can learn another technique for finishing your project. The best part? Every technique is available for free on the featured designer’s blog, and many include video tutorials as well! Be sure to bookmark the hop (linked in the image below) so you can always come back and find these fantastic borders and edges!

Until next time,
