There is a lot to love about this square. For one, it is another one that is worked from the bottom up, rather than center out. Don't get me wrong, I have loved the center out ones too, but in a project like this, I am loving the occasional square that isn't made in the same direction.

Week 9 is over already! This week's square was so much fun, and not just the making of it. This square was a collaboration effort from 2 different designers! Isn't it gorgeous? This square is called Belle's Enchanted Garden, and the name could not be more fitting. The center was designed by Marianne Hamill from Sunset Knots. You can find her HERE. First off the bat, I was absolutely thrilled to see a square worked in rows and a solid color, because so many squares have been worked in the round, so I love the idea of changing it up so this blanket really looks patchwork-y. (Do you like that word? I just now invented it!)

Okay, I gotta be honest here: this week's square was my favorite so far. The fun part about this is that this week's square, the Fairy Wing Flower square, was designed by Journey Chanel Designs, the mastermind behind the Patchwork Mystery CAL! You can find the pattern HERE.

Its official, half of the patterns in the Patchwork Mystery Crochet-a-long have been released! I'm only slightly under halfway done, because I was originally planning to make 2 of each square, but now I've changed my mind and want to make 3 of each, so I'm just a few behind :)

I really liked this pattern. Lots of great textures and different stitches. What I think is really cool is that I used the same colors, but arranged them differently and this week's squares look completely different! The drastic difference really inspired me to try some different combos on the previous weeks' squares that I haven't yet done 3 of.

With all of my extra time this week, I decided to go ahead and block my first batch of completed squares. Honesty time: this is the first project I will have ever properly blocked. My former method involved my husband and I essentially playing tug-of-war with my freshly finished blankets to stretch them into shape. Technically "wrong", but it is an effective blocking method if you dont have a 6 foot wide blocking board!
