Candy Cane Snowflake Square- FREE Crochet Pattern

I'm so overjoyed that I was asked to participate in the Hope in the Holidays CAL hosted and organized by my friend Claire at Bear Rye. I had so much fun designing my square and chatting with the other designers. I hope you have been able to make some new yarn friends during this Crochet-A-Long as well, because I have found that one of the greatest parts of staying home almost all year playing with yarn has been all of the new friendships I have made with people all over the world who speak the same language- crochet.

Pattern Release: the Polar Rush Capelet

My daughter (who historically does not like many of my designs because they "look like they are for middle aged women", even asked for a Polar Rush set of her own, and I was able to start on Tuesday and have both of them finished and waiting under the tree for her! (Did I stay up until 4am the last 2 nights? Yes, obviously. But I have coffee, so its all good!)

Pattern Release: the Polar Rush Beanie

The Polar Rush Beanie is now here, and is a super fun and quick hat to make. I used Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky (5 weight) yarn in 2 colors and a 6mm hook to make this beautiful hat that works up in about an hour. The Polar Rush Beanie utilizes my signature Dolphin Stitch to create the gorgeous texture.

Pattern Release: the Ice Cap Headband

I have what my husband refers to as a "pinhead" (meaning my head is tiny), and my crocheted headbands still stretched out. Drove me nuts, because in my opinion, the whole purpose of a headband is to keep your hair out of your face, right? How's that supposed to happen if the dang headband keeps sliding off? I came up with what I think is a brilliant solution to this problem, and my design is made smaller than your head and includes the use of an elastic hairtie to allow for the stretching. My Ice Cap Headband doesn't get too loose and stays on all day long!

Berry Fun Beret- FREE Crochet Pattern

Guess what- its another Free Pattern Friday! This month has flown by (which is crazy since July was 6 years long), and I've still managed to put out three patterns. How this happened I am not quite sure, but it did. Earlier in the month, the Friendship Prayer Shawl was published, and last week I released the Kenzie Blanket which has quickly become my most popular pattern to date! To finish off this awesome month, I have decided to treat you to a freebie- the Berry Fun Beret. I had so much fun designing this one, and I am sure you will have fun making it!

Pattern Release: the Kenzie Blanket

When I finished designing the original Kenzie Blanket (the preemie size), I was astounded at how tiny it is. And this little blanket would have been more than large enough for her mom to swaddle her in. The blanket itself is 22"x24", which is just a little bit bigger than lovey-sized. Kenzie's story is nothing short of a miracle, and there are so many more wonderful stories of preemie babies. This one just happens to be the closest to my heart.
