Pattern Release: the Serenity Square

I am delighted to share my contribution to the Love and Joy Blanket CAL hosted by Bear Rye and Knottie Hooks. My square is called the Serenity Square, and is full of great texture and fun stitch combinations. I used several techniques that you may not already be familiar with, such as the reverse slip stitch, which is great for hiding your join before crocheting in the 3rd loop on the next round.

Pattern Release: The Candy Cane Cowl

My new Candy Cane Cowl pattern is great for an intermediate crocheter. It can be a little bit tricky to get started, but once you get the hang of it, the cowl will work up very quickly. You will want to grab your favorite DK (3 weight) yarn in 2 colors and a 5mm crochet hook, plus you will want to have at least 2 stitch markers handy for this project. I used KnitPicks Swish DK, courtesy of WeCrochet for my design sample.

Pattern Release: the Woven Winter Pillow

You will need 3 colors of your favorite worsted yarn. I used KnitPicks Brava, courtesy of WeCrochet. You will also need a pillow form. I purchased a 2 pack from Walmart for about $10.00.

Pattern Release: the Secret Santa Hat

Point being, if I look cute in the Secret Santa Hat, imagine how cute you are gonna be! I just know you are going to be the hit of every Christmas party, plus grab compliments while you are just out running errands. You will need DK (3) weight yarn and a 5.5mm crochet hook. I always recommend a good supply of stitch markers as well.

Pattern Release: the Diamond Drape Shawl

As soon as I opened my package of City Tweed DK yarn from KnitPicks, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. This soft yarn was begging to be made into an ultra-wide shawl, with just enough ventilation to allow me to breathe but not become too chilly. This meant it was time to try my hand at designing something with the filet crochet technique.
