When I finished designing the original Kenzie Blanket (the preemie size), I was astounded at how tiny it is. And this little blanket would have been more than large enough for her mom to swaddle her in. The blanket itself is 22"x24", which is just a little bit bigger than lovey-sized. Kenzie's story is nothing short of a miracle, and there are so many more wonderful stories of preemie babies. This one just happens to be the closest to my heart.
I love the crochet business owner community; nobody is a competitor which is super strange in the business world. We all encourage one another and help each others' businesses grow through collaboration and encouragement. It always surprises me how we can all come together and celebrate each other's successes. I wanted to design a cute cowl that will not only keep your neck warm when that chilly fall or winter wind picks up, but will also look stylish and garner you a ton of compliments! This cowl is made in the round, with easy row repeats. You can easily adjust the length and width to make it exactly the size you want. I used less than one cake of Ferris Wheel, but you can use any worsted weight yarn you like.
Today is Free Pattern Friday! For this project, you can of course use any worsted weight yarn you choose, but I highly recommend that you try some ALC hand-dyed Superwash Merino Wool from Avery Lane Creations. My friend Nicky, the owner, sent me a hank of her gorgeous yarn and I absolutely fell in love.
