If you've got those 2020 blues, I have some pretty exciting news for you: We've made it through 2/3 of this crazy crazy year! I don't know how the weather is in your neck of the woods, but here where I live, the air is crisp and the promise of fall is lingering in the air. Actually, I had to laugh a couple of weeks ago because in the middle of August when it was approximately 652 degrees outside I spotted this tree while walking my dogs. It isn't just the human population on the planet who wants this year to be over already- even the trees are trying to rush this thing along!
Fall is truly my favorite season though. The temperature is perfect, the trees are their most beautiful, and my favorite foods are finally socially acceptable to eat. (That's not to say I don't eat a squash in February or a nice bowl of green chili in July- I do!) I used to really look forward to Pumpkin Spice lattes as well, but after the incident of 2013 when I spilled my PSL (that I hadn't even had a sip of yet) all over the back of my white carpeted car, I don't have as much love for it anymore. If you haven't had the supreme misfortune of spilling a Pumpkin Spice latte on white carpet yet, spoiler alert- PSL is very very orange.
Oh, look, I went on a tangent that has absolutely nothing to do with yarn. Eh, it happens from time to time I suppose. But I do have some exciting things to share with you today, the first one being that from now until September 8, all of my patterns are on sale- Buy 2, Get 1 FREE with no code necessary! Just choose 3 patterns you love and one will cost you exactly zero dollars!
And my second piece of news is the Fall Fashion Blog Hop hosted by E'Claire Makery. Every day this month, you can snag a free PDF of a great fall fashion pattern from one of my talented designer friends! Which pattern can you get from me, you may wonder? How about the Spring Breeze (no-fall) Shawl?! Yes, I designed this one in the spring when we still had snow on the ground, but it will be just as cozy this fall, and the best part is that I designed it with sleeves so if it slips off of your shoulders, it won't hit the ground! The pattern features the Dolphin Stitch, which I am the proud inventor of. If you haven't yet tried my Dolphin Stitch, you are gonna love the texture and the speed of which it works up.
You can finish your Spring Breeze (no-fall) Shawl quickly, because of the easy pattern repeats. In fact, one of my testers blew me away by finishing hers in a day! This is a great project for binge-watching your favorite show (what do you mean you've already watched the entire series 62 times this year? Oh, right... The 'Rona) or finding your new favorite show. Personally, I've just gotten into House, which I had never seen before. I am a humongous Grey's Anatomy fan (yeah, I watched the entire series again this year), and my spouse asked me a couple of weeks ago why I don't like House. Turns out that I DO like it, and I am so excited that I have a new show to watch!
If you are new to my blog, I want to apologize for going off on tangents today. I'm not normally this obnoxious, but in all honesty I don't have a ton of news this week and I'm trying to make my post look long. Come back next week though, because I will have more Fall Fashion patterns to share with you and I promise to be less long-winded.
Grab your copy of the Spring Breeze (no-fall) Shawl below, and while you're at it, take advantage of the Buy 2 Get 1 FREE sale! If you're late to the party, I apologize. But if you join my Straight Awesome newsletter, I will give you a FREE pattern right away, plus special discounts only for my subscribers! And the best part is that I won't fill up your inbox, because I only send out email when I have something really great to share with you! Oh, and I write back too. I love making new yarny friends, and I am excited to get to know you better. So feel free to reply and you will most definitely get a response directly from me!
